Developed in secret in the 1990s by legendary Japanese auteur Takashi Fukuhara, Benjo 10 was rumored for years to be his strangest and most disturbing lost work.

Conceived after what Fukuhara described as “a spiritual event in a public restroom,” the game became infamous for its obsessive development, psychological intensity, and bizarre fixation on fluorescent-lit inspection corridors lined with toilets.

Long whispered about as an “anti-video game,” “OSHA survival horror,” and even “the most important bathroom-related work in interactive media,” Benjo 10 was supposedly too intelligent, too brilliant, and too toilet-focused for its time.

Shelved, mythologized, and almost certainly exaggerated beyond recognition…
